Getting Started
-
Send us your vehicle information, pickup and delivery locations, preferred timing, and whether you prefer open or enclosed transport through our online quote request form. -
To book, we typically need:
Vehicle year, make and model.
VIN
Pickup and delivery addresses.
Pickup and delivery contact names and phone numbers.
Earliest pickup date or a realistic 2-day pickup window.
Vehicle condition, including whether it runs, drives and steers.
Any special modifications, such as lowered suspension, aftermarket wheels, if race ramps are needed, valet access, dealer hours, gated access, or strict delivery timing.
-
When you book directly with a carrier, you are responsible for verifying that carrier’s insurance, authority, equipment, driver, communication, timing, and overall legitimacy.
When you book with Formula Transport, we manage that process for you and include a secondary insurance policy for added protection. We help locate the right carrier for your vehicle, review the route and timing, verify carrier credentials, confirm equipment, review insurance, coordinate pickup and delivery contacts, and stay involved throughout the trip.
Our role is not just to “find a truck.” We act as your transport coordinator, advocate, and added layer of protection from quote to delivery.
-
Formula Transport is more hands-on than a typical transport broker. We focus heavily on communication, carrier vetting, realistic pricing, proper equipment, insurance review, and protecting the client throughout the shipment.
What makes us different:
We do not simply take the lowest rate truck available. We do not work with the cheapest teams.
We review equipment, insurance, and carrier fit.
We communicate with clients throughout the process.
We understand exotic, luxury, collector, and low-clearance vehicles.
We help coordinate dealers, valets, building managers, assistants, and private contacts.
We stay involved if timing changes, delays happen, or a claim needs support.
We prioritize transparency over unrealistic promises. Our goal is to make transport feel organized, protected, and personal from the first quote to final delivery.
Pricing, Quotes, and Availability
-
Pricing depends on the route, vehicle type, timing, trailer type, carrier availability, and current market demand. Once we know your pickup and delivery locations, vehicle details, and preferred pickup window, we provide the best available options and negotiate with vetted carriers on your behalf.
For specialty, exotic, luxury, lowered, or high-value vehicles, enclosed transport usually costs more than open transport but offers a higher level of protection.
-
Carrier pricing changes based on availability, route demand, fuel, seasonality, trailer type, timing, and how many trucks are in the area. A quoted option may no longer be available if a carrier fills the spot before the booking is confirmed.
For the best chance at securing your preferred option, we recommend confirming as soon as the timing and details are ready.
-
If we cannot secure a carrier for your exact requested pickup window, delivery deadline, or target rate, we will walk you through the best available options instead of leaving you guessing.
Your options may include adjusting the pickup or delivery window, increasing the rate to match current carrier availability, choosing a different trailer type, waiting for a better match, changing the pickup or delivery location, splitting priorities, or canceling or pausing the request.
Formula Transport’s job is to be transparent about what is realistic in the current market. We will never pressure you into an option that does not make sense for your vehicle, timing, or comfort level.
-
Yes. Formula Transport offers preferred pricing or customized transport solutions for repeat clients, dealerships, collectors, brokers, relocation companies, and businesses with consistent volume.
Special rates depend on factors such as route frequency, vehicle type, trailer requirements, timing flexibility, payment structure, and monthly volume. For more information, send us an email to info@formulatransport.net
Transport Options
-
Yes. We offer both open and enclosed auto transport.
Open transport is typically more cost-effective and commonly used for standard vehicles. Enclosed transport is recommended for exotic, luxury, collector, lowered, high-value, or weather-sensitive vehicles because it provides added protection during transit.
-
Open transport means your vehicle is moved on an open car carrier, similar to what dealerships commonly use. It is usually less expensive, but the vehicle is exposed to weather and road conditions.
Enclosed transport means your vehicle travels inside a covered trailer. This option offers more protection and is commonly used for exotic, luxury, classic, or high-value vehicles.
-
Yes, when available. We can quote both options so you can compare. Open transport may save money, but enclosed transport is usually recommended for vehicles where protection, condition, clearance, or value is a priority.
-
Open carriers typically do not cover normal road debris damage. Coverage usually applies to carrier-caused damage or major incidents, depending on the carrier’s insurance policy.
For vehicles where finish, paint, carbon fiber, low clearance, or overall condition is a major concern, we always recommend enclosed transport.
-
Yes. We regularly assist with exotic, luxury, collector, and specialty vehicles. For lowered vehicles or cars with aftermarket wheels, body kits, carbon fiber, or limited clearance, we look for the right trailer setup, such as liftgate service, race ramps, or enclosed transport.
-
Often, yes. Lowered vehicles may require race ramps, a liftgate, or a specific trailer setup to load safely. Please let us know if the vehicle is lowered, has aftermarket wheels, a front splitter, widebody kit, or any clearance concerns before booking.
In some cases, we may request a measurement from the vehicle’s lowest point to the ground.
-
Yes. We can coordinate single-vehicle and multi-vehicle transport, including rally event transport, dealer moves, and individuals relocating to a new area.
-
Yes. We can help with one-way or round-trip transport. For round trips, we will need both route directions, timing, vehicle details, and any event or delivery deadlines.
-
Pickup depends on carrier availability, route, trailer type, and how flexible your schedule is. In many cases, we work with a 1–2 day pickup window, but some routes may require more flexibility.
Last-minute pickup is sometimes possible when a carrier has an opening nearby, but spots can book quickly.
-
We do our best to work around your timing needs, but exact pickup and delivery times are not guaranteed because carriers deal with traffic, weather, loading delays, dealership hours, mechanical issues, and route changes.
We provide an estimated window and keep you updated as the driver gets closer.
-
Transit time depends on the route and carrier schedule. Shorter routes may deliver the same day or next day. Longer routes may take several days.
When we quote your transport, we provide an estimated delivery window based on the carrier’s current route.
-
Yes. A dealer, building manager, valet, assistant, family member, or other authorized contact can release or receive the vehicle. We need their name, phone number, and any access instructions before pickup or delivery.
-
Yes. We coordinate with dealerships, private residences, offices, storage facilities, gated communities, and valet or building staff. Please provide business hours, gate codes, valet contacts, loading restrictions, and any special instructions in advance.
-
Let us know the hours as early as possible. If a dealership, office, or gated location closes at a certain time, we coordinate with the carrier around that schedule. If the driver cannot make it before closing, pickup or delivery may need to move to the next available day.
-
Formula Transport coordinates with vetted carrier partners. Before confirming a carrier, we send you the actual available team’s truck photos, trailer type, insurance, equipment details, and ramp information for approval.
Once your vehicle is scheduled, we provide driver verification details and contact information.
-
Formula Transport conducts carrier vetting before assigning a transport. This may include reviewing carrier authority, insurance, cargo coverage, company information, history, equipment, documentation, inspection history, crash history, and communication quality.
Driver background checks may depend on available public records and the carrier’s own hiring, safety, and compliance processes.
Formula Transport verifies the carrier and requests driver details when needed for the shipment, but background screening requirements may vary by carrier.
-
For specialty, exotic, luxury, manual, lowered, or high-performance vehicles, Formula Transport asks targeted questions before confirming the carrier. We may verify the trailer type, loading method, ramp setup, liftgate availability, driver experience, and whether the driver has handled similar vehicles.
When needed, we also provide specific instructions regarding vehicle operation, clearance, battery tenders, valet mode, keys, alarm systems, manual transmissions, or special startup/shutdown procedures.
If your vehicle has unique operating instructions, please provide them before pickup.
-
Yes. Vehicles are transported by insured carriers. Insurance coverage varies by carrier, trailer type, and policy limits. For high-value vehicles, we review cargo coverage carefully and may require additional coverage or matching coverage before confirming a carrier.
Formula Transport reviews insurance details before scheduling and includes a secondary cargo insurance policy as an added safety net with every trip.
-
Cargo insurance is the coverage policy for vehicles being transported on or inside the trailer. This is the insurance that matters most when it comes to damage to your vehicle while it is in the carrier’s care, custody, and control.
Cargo insurance is different from the carrier’s general automotive insurance or liability insurance. A carrier may mention that they have auto liability insurance, but that does not necessarily mean your vehicle is covered as cargo.
Formula Transport reviews carrier insurance details so we can confirm that the appropriate coverage is in place for your shipment. Additionally, Formula Transport includes a secondary cargo insurance policy as a safety net with every trip.
-
For high-value vehicles, we check cargo coverage carefully to make sure the carrier’s insurance is appropriate for the shipment. If your vehicle is traveling with other high-value vehicles, total cargo value matters because the carrier’s policy has coverage limits.
-
Vehicle transport scams are unfortunately common. Formula Transport adds a layer of protection by reviewing carrier credentials, checking insurance, confirming company details, verifying assigned drivers, reviewing equipment, and communicating directly with the parties involved before pickup.
We also watch for red flags such as mismatched company names, suspicious payment requests, unverified drivers, inconsistent insurance information, or carriers that cannot provide proper documentation.
-
Yes. We provide pickup confirmation, ETA updates, driver information, and pickup photos or inspection links when available. Carrier direct contact information is provided for real-time and urgent communication.
-
When the carrier completes the vehicle’s inspection, we can provide pickup photos and inspection links. These document the vehicle’s condition at pickup and are helpful for transparency throughout the transport process.
-
Unexpected issues such as mechanical problems, weather, traffic, or scheduling delays can happen. If a carrier can no longer complete the pickup or delivery as planned, Formula Transport works to keep you updated and, when needed, find another available option.
-
If damage occurs, it should be documented immediately at delivery before the bill of lading is signed. Photos, inspection notes, and delivery paperwork are important.
Formula Transport will help initiate the claim, stay involved, and guide you through the claim process. We assist with gathering documents, communicating with the carrier, reviewing inspection records, advising on best practices, and helping you understand the next steps.
The insurance claim itself is handled through the carrier’s insurance provider, but we do not leave you to figure it out alone.
-
Let us know as soon as possible. Changes to pickup dates, delivery dates, addresses, vehicle readiness, contacts, or access instructions can affect pricing, carrier availability, and timing.
We will review the new details and work on adjusting the transport plan. If the change affects the route, schedule, or required equipment, a new carrier option or revised rate may be needed.
-
If you need to cancel, contact Formula Transport as soon as possible by phone, text, or email. The earlier we know, the more options we usually have.
Cancellation terms may depend on the stage of the transport. For example, canceling before a carrier is assigned is different from canceling after a carrier has already been booked, dispatched, or is en route to pickup. In these cases, a cancellation fee may apply.
-
Refund amount and eligibility depend on the timing of the cancellation, services already performed, payment method, and whether a carrier has already been assigned or dispatched.
If a refund is due, Formula Transport will review the trip status and process the refund according to the applicable terms. Processing times and fees may vary depending on the payment method or bank.
-
Payment options may include Zelle, bank transfer, PayPal, or credit card. Processing fees may vary by payment method. We confirm the available payment options when your invoice is prepared.
-
Payment in full is required to secure your spot with our partnered carriers. We will confirm payment instructions clearly before your vehicle is scheduled, released, or delivered.
-
Formula Transport does not store sensitive payment data. Payment details are handled through QuickBooks or directly through your banking method.
For credit card or online payment processing, sensitive card data is typically handled by the payment processor rather than stored directly by Formula Transport. You can contact us directly if you have questions about a specific payment method.
-
No. Formula Transport does not sell customer data.
Customer information is used to coordinate transport, communicate with pickup and delivery contacts, prepare invoices, confirm vehicle details, and complete the service requested.
